A Little About Me and My Taste In Music


Hey, my name is DeMia Johnson. I am from Abbeville South Carolina. I am 19y/o and 5'9. My favorite hobby is playing basketball whether its for a school or just with my friends. Doing hair (Coloring and box braids and retwist), doing make up, and taking long vacation trips with my friends, and listening to music. Music, to me, has many impacts on people. The type of music that has impacted me would mostly be rap with a little bit of R&B. My favorite artist is Rod Wave.
In my opinion his music is important because he sings and raps about the side of the world that people choose not to reveal. Mostly, in songs you hear about love but in his songs you hear about how love can get you stuck in an odd place or how you always got to watch out even for the people you love. In his eyes loving too hard will leave your mind mentally damaged and it can be hard to bounce back from. Not only does he give pointers about love he also raps and sings about other hardships in life. Rod Wave music is important to me because he does pretend or sugarcoat about the hard times he faced in life.  Two other important people I listen to is... NBA Youngboy and NoCap his music is a bit different from Rod wave. I like Rod Wave because the stuff he talks about is true, I like Youngboy because his music is more up beat ands sounds real heaven like in a car. lastly NoCap is my favorite because his wordplay is amazing.  
I love R&B but I will only tend to listen to it when Im cleaning or when im around family.  Its very soothing and motivational.

    DeMia's you are right about Rod he speaks the truth about certain things that is happening in his life and his story telling is deep too. He wants his fans to feel where he is coming from.

 Even though I’ve never played an instrument, I have sung at many rituals (Anniversaries, funerals, and church events. I believe when you're actually singing the music or being involved in some kind of way , you understand it a bit more rather than you understanding from just listening to music. My voice lesson teacher taught me in order to feel the music from deep within put yourself in the singer’s shoes somehow. After that it became quite easy to  sing.
