Music & Gender
Over the time we have been observing many different cultures, their music, and their way of life. We always tend to take what we can from the videos to improve our knowledge. We also discussed the differences between the men and women and the different things they do involving music. There are many different ways that music and gender interact.
In my opinion (talking about the 20th century), women get more recognition than men when it comes to music these days. Women are always admired for their ability to hit a high note. Some men are beginning to reach that level of recognition even kids and teenagers. The media definitely treat the two genders differently. For example, Just recently Rihanna performed a song while pregnant and also dancing with the backup dancers. Many male rappers have had a baby on the way and didn't get that same treatment at all (It was not just because she was carrying). One out of the many male artists I know that have the role of getting or having that same potential as women is Toosii.
I also believe Rod Wave has that potential because he raps and sing. He doesn't get much "roar" about his voice but I believe he should. Another group of singers I know that is bound to get the same to the same level as women are the TNT boys they are young and so cute and their voices is amazing. This video was years ago but I think this one is my favorite.I watch a lot of America's Got Talent and women are starting to branch out even more because of the ways they are starting to make their voice different and unique take these two lady's for instance:
I haven't noticed much about what gender plays what kind of instrument but I have noticed how different sections act in a choir. In most choirs the women do most of the singing because their voice is either high pitched or flat toned which creates your sopranos and altos. This allows them to create different beautiful harmonies unlike men who just got the title of tenors with a deep voice.
Basically when it comes to music men have to push so hard to get to where they going but for women if you got that voice it's seems very easy to get recognized. Depending on the kind of voice you have and what song you are trying to sing, singing can be just like talking to some women.
